Phil Ivey Chasing After His 11th Bracelet – Will It Happen This Year?

Phil Ivey is in the hunt for his 11th WSOP bracelet after falling just short a few days back in the $10,000 High Roller.

When it comes to WSOP bracelets, everyone knows that Phil Hellmuth is the GOAT, with 16 golden trinkets to his name. Trailing him are three players with 10 bracelets each: Doyle Brunson, Johnny Chan, and Phil Ivey. Of these three, Ivey is the only one with a real chance to catch up with The Poker Brat, as the other two legends no longer play many WSOP events.

Phil Ivey, however, is considered by many the greatest poker player to have walked the earth, and after a long hiatus, he is back in the mix and looking to capture his 11th bracelet and at least somewhat close the gap.

No Home Jerome is on a serious grind as he took his seat in quite a few events, some of them featuring very small buy-ins for his standards. Ivey was also on the brink of capturing the first WSOP bracelet this year a few days ago when he eventually finished the runner-up to Aleksejs Ponakov in the $100,000 High Roller event.

This didn’t faze Ivey too much, though, as he bounced back and made it to the final table of the $250K Super High Roller, which will be restarting tonight. Starting the play with a solid stack, he certainly has another solid shot at the bracelet. Interestingly enough, this would be Ivey’s first and only No Limit Hold’em bracelet.

There is a lot of variance involved in tournament poker, but from what we have seen so far, Ivey is looking good for another bracelet, and it is high time he gets one, as his last WSOP win happened way back in 2014!
