Partypoker Going Live in Pennsylvania This Week?

The next meeting for the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB), the state regulators responsible for overseeing PA casino and iGaming industry, is scheduled to take place tomorrow, Wednesday.

And there are expectations that the Partypoker US Network may get the green light from the regulators in tomorrow’s board meeting and become only the second online poker room to go live in the Keystone State after PokerStars.

In a statement to pokerfuse, our sister site, in July, PGCB Communications Director, Doug Harbach commented that testing of the partypoker platform has already begun and that they expect a soft launch “this summer or early fall.

PGCB staff have been working closely with Roar to launch the Party Poker and BetMGM apps, which will include interactive slots, table games and poker,” said Doug Harbach, Director of Communications for the PGCB, in an exclusive statement to pokerfuse.

“This includes testing of ROAR’s interactive gaming platform and games. PGCB anticipates overseeing a soft launch sometime this summer or early fall,” Harbach added.

But as per the agenda for tomorrow’s meeting, there is no mention of GVC Holdings or ROAR, the company in charge of operating partypoker in the US, raising doubts whether partypoker PA will go live this week.

However, it is important to note that when PokerStars went live in the state, PokerStars or parent company at the time, The Stars Group (TSG) were not included on the agenda either, so despite partypoker or ROAR not being on the agenda for tomorrow’s meeting, there are still hopes of partypoker PA soft launching its online poker platform this week.

If that doesn’t happen, the next PGCB meeting after tomorrow is scheduled to take place at the end of September.
