Jason Les Discusses The Pressure of Playing AI Poker Bot Liberatus

Thanks to Card Player for bringing us this interview with Jason Les — the high stakes poker player – who battled it out with the AI bot, Liberatus in early 2017.

Along with Les, Dong Kim, Daniel McAulay, and Jimmy Chou took part in the Brains vs. AI challenge which saw them battle the AI program, Libratus, for hours each day as they tried and ultimately failed to find an edge to exploit the program.

The match played out over a 20 day period, live streamed on Twitch but already Libratus proved too hard to beat.

Card Player TV caught up with Les to chat about the pressure of playing the bot and what he thinks it means for poker for there to be such a strong heads-up AI no-limit hold’em bot.
