12 Circuit Rings & $2.5M up for Grabs in First WSOP Ontario Series

The inaugural WSOP Ontario Online Circuit Series lasts until Oct 16, giving players a chance to win prestigious gold rings across a dozen events.

WSOP Ontario went live on Friday, Sep 30, and the operator is determined to waste no time making a splash. Coming a bit late to the market, WSOP will look to establish its place by doing what it does best — running big tournament series, the first of which is already underway.

The inaugural WSOP Ontario Online Circuit Series takes place Oct 1 – 16 and features 12 ring-awarding events and $2.5 in guaranteed prizes. In addition to 12 main events, there are plenty of side tournaments, giving everyone a chance to get into the action.

Those looking to compete for coveted WSOP rings will have their shot for as little as CAD $50 with the multi-day Housewarming event, which also features a generous CAD $100,000 guarantee. The CAD $525 Main Event will pay out at least a quarter of a million in prizes.

Besides buying in directly, players can win their seats to the ring events via the Welcome to Ontario Freerolls, available daily.

PokerStars WCOOP Main Events to Run in Nov. With Boosted Guarantees

Canceled WCOOP tournaments will take place on PokerStars in November, with the three NLHE Main Events featuring boosted guarantees to make up for the inconvenience.

The final weekend of this year’s WCOOP did not exactly go as planned. PokerStars experienced perhaps the most significant DDOS attack in its history, forcing the operator to cancel all remaining tournaments and refund players.

The good news is that the interrupted tournaments will still take place as PokerStars has rescheduled the three NLHE and the three PLO Main Events for November, as well as all three tiers of the Women’s Events.

The rescheduled events will take place on Nov 5 – 6, and all three NLHE Main Events will feature boosted guarantees to compensate for the inconvenience. Other than this, tournaments will keep their original structures regarding blind levels and days.

If you want to get involved with the new WCOOP Championship Weekend, keep your eyes peeled for freerolls and regular satellites in the PokerStars tournament lobby.

The operator will run plenty of these over the next few weeks, looking to give as many players as possible a shot at winning a seat in what is likely to be the year’s biggest online poker event.
