PokerStars BSOP in Full Swing: Day 3 Is in the Books

The Main Event of the 2023 BSOP by PokerStars attracted 685 entries, comfortably breaking the R$1.5 million guarantee set by the organizer.

The Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP) is going strong in Brasilia. The popular event hosted by PokerStars has attracted hundreds of players to the country’s capital as they seek to compete for shiny trophies and big prize pools.

Starting flights for the BSOP Main Event have now been completed. The R$3000 tournament attracted 685 entries in total, which was enough to comfortably break the R$1.5 million guarantee (around $302,000). A total of 198 players will return for Day 2, led by Marcelo Paixão, who bagged the largest chip stack.

Apart from the Main Event, Catarina Machado’s triumph in Event #11 has been the biggest story of this PokerStars series. This was the first major title for Machado, who bagged R$39,500 for her efforts, outlasting the field of 105 entries.

The BSOP action will continue until June 6. In addition to finding the Main Event winner, there are still quite a few more side events on the schedule, including the R$8,000 High Roller.
