Brian Rast is Named 2023 WSOP Poker Hall of Fame Honoree

The six-time WSOP winner has now secured his place in poker history.

Brian Rast is following in the footsteps of the poker greats as he gets inducted to the World Series of Poker — Poker Hall of Fame.

In his 2023 WSOP run, Rast has already made WSOP history twice.

He has become the 19th person in WSOP history to win a sixth bracelet and is the only poker player to have won the $50,000 Poker Players Championship event three times.

“With a nearly 20-year-long career riddled with record-breaking wins and historic runs, Brian Rast is one of the best poker players we’ve ever seen,” said WSOP Vice President Jack Effel. “With the 2023 WSOP breaking records left and right, it only makes sense to put a record-setter himself amongst some of the greatest of all time. We are honored to induct Brian Rast into the Poker Hall of Fame and look forward to his successes to come.”

We’re already looking forward to next year’s WSOP. Get full details on the WSOP 2024 schedule, events, and more in our complete guide!

PokerStars Between the Lines: Waiting for Your Moment

The latest episode of the fun PokerStars mini-series teaches the importance of patience and discipline, both on the green felt and at a racing track.

Winning is not always about pushing the envelope. Sometimes, it is about staying patient, biding your time, and waiting for the right moment, even if it is not the most exciting thing to do. This is the lesson from the latest episode of Between the Lines, a show created by PokerStars in cooperation with Oracle Red Bull Racing.

Sergio ‘Checo’ Pérez is driving in the Grand Prix Singapore, one of the toughest races on the circuit. Weather conditions are bad, so the entire team has to come up with the perfect strategy to keep ‘Checo’ in the lead.

Halfway across the world, Steve O’Dwyer is battling in EPT Monte Carlo. Cards have not been coming his way, so he pulled back, watching other players hit the rail and waiting for his moment to strike. But, as conditions change and they are down to three players, he switches things up to go after the title.

In another great episode of Between the Lines, producers have done an excellent job of drawing lines between F1 and poker, showing that the qualities required to be a winner are very similar across sports, whether you’re shuffling your chips and cards or sitting behind the steering wheel.

And, if you think you have what it takes, head on over to PokerStars, get your bonus, and get involved with some of the biggest and most lucrative tournaments you’ll find online!
